Xiaomi launches pre-orders for Mijia Ironing Machine 2 ironing system

Water tank is enough to iron roughly 15 shirts

Xiaomi has opened pre-orders for the new Mijia Ironing Machine 2, an ironing system. The recommended price for the new model is 599 yuan ($90).

Steam pressure and output on the Mijia Ironing Machine 2

The standout feature is an electromagnetic pump rated at 500 kPa, delivering dry steam at up to 120 g/min. According to Xiaomi, this steam output penetrates fabric fibres quickly and helps smooth out creases effectively.

The device uses a dual-heating system, which cuts preheating time to just 65 seconds, and produces steam without unnecessarily dampening clothing. It supports both dry and wet ironing modes, which can be switched depending on the fabric and what is required.

Modes for different fabrics

Six ironing modes are provided for different materials - settings can be selected on the colour screen for cotton, linen, silk, and synthetics.

Water tank capacity, sterilisation, and odour removal

Mijia Ironing Machine 2 comes with a large transparent water reservoir which, the manufacturer says, is sufficient in a single cycle for around 15 shirts, 10 T-shirts, or 5 coats. Xiaomi claims a sterilisation level of 99.99% and 100% mite removal.

At high temperature for 3 minutes, the unit also helps remove stubborn odours, including kitchen and smoke smells.

Separately, Xiaomi highlights the ceramic glazed soleplate, which it says speeds up ironing by roughly 20%.
