Owners of Samsung Bespoke smart washer-dryers priced at $2,000 have reported a serious malfunction after installing a software update. According to Android Authority, following the update some units effectively lost the ability to start a wash cycle.

The issue has affected all-in-one owners - models that combine a washing machine and tumble dryer in a single cabinet. Users say that after installing the new software, the wash programmes previously found under More Cycles disappeared from the screen. The menu then appeared blank, making it impossible to begin washing in the usual way.

Reports have surfaced both on Reddit and on Samsung’s official support forums. In each case, users describe a similar sequence of events: the update installed successfully, and the appliance immediately lost part of its core functionality.

A few owners have managed to find temporary workarounds. For some, changing the interface theme restored the missing options; for others, performing several factory resets in a row brought the wash-cycle menu back. Even so, for buyers of premium domestic appliances, this kind of experience clearly feels far from acceptable.
