Xiaomi opens Youpin pre-orders for the Mijia Garment Steamer 2 at a reduced price

Xiaomi has opened pre-orders for the Mijia Garment Steamer 2 on its Youpin platform. During the crowdfunding campaign, the device is priced at 509 yuan ($74), after which the price will rise to $86.

Steam output, pressure and reach

The Mijia Garment Steamer 2 delivers a steam output of 120 g/min. It uses a 500 kPa electromagnetic pump, and the spray range reaches up to 150 cm.

Heating system and ironing modes

This garment steamer relies on a dual heating setup, with separate boilers for the main unit and the iron, and it heats up in 65 seconds.

Xiaomi has included six dedicated ironing modes: cotton - 145°C, silk - 110°C, synthetic fibres - 125°C, linen - 160°C, blended fabrics - 115°C, and wool - 130°C. The unit also features a temperature control system.

Soleplate, water tank capacity and hygiene claims

The Mijia Garment Steamer 2 comes with an 8.75-inch (around 22.2 cm) ironing plate with a ceramic coating. Its water tank is stated to handle up to 15 items of clothing per fill, depending on the fabric type.

Xiaomi says the steamer provides 99.99% sterilisation and completely eliminates mites.
